Favorite Makeup Looks from the 2016 Golden Globes

Good morning!

I tend to be a sucker for awards shows and red carpet events, partly to ogle celebrities, and partly to ooh and ahh at the fashion and makeup choices. Seeing the makeup looks from the 2016 Golden Globes has given me fresh inspiration, and now I’m eager to go play with my makeup this week. The following are my favorite looks, I hope you enjoy!

Emilia Clarke 2016 Golden Globes

I want to begin this post with Emilia Clarke because I’ve been on a Game of Thrones kick lately (again). I love her matte and flawless skin paired with the cool-toned shimmery eyeshadow and non-matte lips. Her natural brows and eyelashes are beautiful, and overall the look is very radiant and wearable.

Bryce Dallas Howard: Golden Globes 2016

Bryce Dallas Howard is totally rocking this monochrome peachy look. That contour is killer, and her sleek and straight hair is icing on the cake. I like the subtle nude inner rim liner as well.

J-Lo: Golden Globes 2016

Jennifer Lopez generally has great makeup, though sometimes it’s a little heavy for my liking. This look is a lot more subtle (if you count overlined lips and dramatic contour as subtle), and I love the freshness of it. Those deep red and glossy lips are completely beautiful.

Olivia Wilde: Golden Globes 2016

I adore Olivia Wilde’s daring and colorful smoky eye! The strong black waterline looks very modern with the shimmer of the maroon smoky eye, and doesn’t look too done. My waterline tends to be very, well, watery, so I need to figure out a way to do a look like this without getting raccoon eyes.

Jenna Dewan Tatum: 2016 Golden Globes

Jenna Dewan Tatum’s smoky eye also rocked my socks. The silvery blue perfectly matches her dress, and those fluffy eyebrows though! I love how fresh and dewy she looks, and the glossy lips was a perfect choice.

Amber Heard: 2016 Golden Globes

And finally we have Amber Heard, rocking a matte red lip. I love the lack of hard edges on her lips. Her whole look in general is very soft and feminine, with a thin band of eyeliner that again, lacks hard edges, and shimmery shadow with just a little bit of taupe shading.
